"This situation better not involve you, or else..." The man hesitated, leaving his sentence unfinished, but the meaning was clear.

If this did have something to do with Louise, he couldn't pull any strings to help her out of it. What awaited her would be the judge's decision.

Louise slumped back in her chair, baffled. She hadn't done anything wrong, or so she thought. Fiona was just some girl from the sticks; handling her seemed simple enough. How did things spiral into such a mess... "Your folks and brothers are still overseas. I've already called them back."

The man sighed softly. "I'll try to stall things until they return. Weren't you tight with Nash? Why would they team up with that girl to put the squeeze on us?"

He found it odd and asked.

This time, the McCoy family and the Woods family joining forces had completely blindsided him.

"I..." Louise's tears flowed freely. It was all Fiona's fault!

Everything changed the moment she showed up!

Nash used to be so fond of her, but Fiona turned everything upside down!

"Uncle, isn't there anything we can do? I can't go to jail! I just can't!"

Louise buried her face in her hands, sobbing loudly.

She was only eighteen. Jail was unthinkable.

The man looked at her, on the verge of saying more, but held back.

Crossing the Woods family and the McCoy family, just ending up in jail would be a slap on the wrist. What he feared was...

"Louise, there's another option." He paused to gather his thoughts. "The girl involved is Fiona. If she agrees to settle this quietly, you could avoid all this. I'll see what I can do." Louise felt a chill run through her. Fiona was so ruthless; would she even consider a quiet settlement?

She'd have to agree, like it or not!

Meanwhile, Fiona had been out cold for over an hour. When she came to, the car was parked in front of a rundown sanatorium.

Mikey got out first and opened the passenger door for Fiona.

This place looked pretty shabby, with its black gate and faded white walls.

"Are you sure this is the place?"

Fiona eyed the hefty black gate with a frown.

Mikey nodded earnestly, "I've been digging around for a while, and this is it."

She had been generous, giving Sawyer a lot of money. That cask was supposed to help his brother too, so they shouldn't be in such dire straits.

Did his foster parents take off with all the money?

Fiona pursed her lips and strode into the sanatorium.

Inside, there were all sorts of young people dealing with different physical challenges.

As Fiona and Mikey walked in, a staff member came up to greet them.

"Mr. Mikey, Ms. Fiona."

He didn't know them personally, just that they were well-off and here to support the sanatorium.

Mikey gave a nod, "Let's take a look around first."

"Of course."

The staff member quickly agreed, leading them inside. Fiona trailed behind, casually taking in the surroundings.

"Mr. Mikey, our sanatorium has a

fantastic atmosphere. Everyone gets

along so well," the staff member

said with a broad smile. "Look-"

She was about to point out a group of boys reading and playing chess nearby but before she could finish, a loud burst of laughter and the unmistakable sounds of a scuffle erupted from not far away.

Clearly, a fight was breaking out!
