Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1431

Austin and Faith had always been abroad, barely a part of Louise's life. They only showed up during the holidays, which left Louise feeling a bit uneasy around them.

She sat there, stiff as a board, not knowing what to say. What could she even say? Mention how she ended up at the police station? But Austin and Faith stayed silent, making the air thick with tension. The silence dragged on.

Eventually, Louise couldn't hold it in any longer and spoke up, "Dad, Mom-"

Before she could continue, her father cut her off.

"Louise, we're really disappointed in you," Austin said, his voice icy. His eyes held none of the warmth you'd expect from a father. Instead, it was like he was looking at something he couldn't stand.

"We've given you everything, yet you've managed to make a fool of us," he continued, his disappointment hanging heavy in the air. "You've dragged the Neville family name through the mud."

Louise tried to hold back her tears, "Dad... I messed up, I know. I promise I'll never do anything like this again! Just get me out of this place!" She covered her face, tears slipping through her fingers, but her parents just watched her with cold detachment. Their gaze was anything but parental.

"We talked to the Woods family before coming here," Austin said, his voice calm but firm. "They've made it clear, Louise, you've tangled with the wrong people."

"You haven't just embarrassed yourself; you've embarrassed the whole Neville family."noveldrama

Already frazzled, Louise exploded at this, "All you care about is your reputation, even now? I'm your daughter, and I'm in big trouble, and you don't care at all!"

They had never really been there for her since day one. Now, when she needed them most, they were still absent. She thought they were here to help, but it felt like they were just pushing her deeper into despair.

"You made your bed, Louise. Don't yell at us," Austin said, frowning with clear irritation. "After all these years with Nash, you couldn't make him like you, and now you've ticked off the Woods family and landed yourself in jail."

"We'll do our best to get you out, but with the Woods family involved, there's not much hope."

Austin didn't want to cause any more trouble with the Woods family. While Louise was his daughter his career and reputation mattered more to him.

Louise's scandal had already caused enough waves, and even if she got out, she'd be a shell of her former self.

She slumped in her chair, looking at them, feeling nothing but the sting of irony and ridicule.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town...

Fiona was stuffed, lounging in her chair and patting her full belly.

"This Thai place is awesome. We should totally come back," she said earnestly, still patting her stomach.

Jackson smiled, handing her a glass of honey water. "Here, drink this. It'll help settle your stomach." "Thanks," Fiona replied, taking the glass with both hands and sipping it slowly.

"If you liked it, I'll bring you back," Jackson said, pulling out a card and

handing it to her. "This card lete and

come anytime you want, and you can bring friends too."

Fiona raised an eyebrow, a playful smile dancing on her lips, revealing a charming canine tooth.

"Usually, when a guy gives a card, it's to his girlfriend," she teased.

"You're more precious than any girlfriend," Jackson chuckled, gently ruffling her hair. "You're my favorite little sister."
