My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1617

Skylar examined the paperweight with a solemn expression. "This isn't a negative item, but it carries the lingering resentment of its original owner." Alexander met her gaze and nodded. "It carries the original owner's resentment? That explains a lot."

"What's the story?" Skylar asked.

Alexander began recounting, his tone deliberate. "This paperweight belonged to a friend of mine. After he acquired it, he started using it for his work. And whenever he would use it, he often felt a heavy pressure on his chest, like something weighing him down. It made breathing difficult.

"He used to enjoy practicing calligraphy during his leisure time, but since possessing this paperweight, he couldn't write a single word. At first, I suspected it might be a negative item. But it turns out to be just lingering resentment. Can you resolve it?"

Skylar nodded. "Leave it to me. I'll help dispel the lingering resentment."

"Great, I appreciate it. By the way, there's something else I'd like you to look at." He set the paperweight aside and handed her a handwritten letter. "It's from my friend, Waldo Brewer."

In an age dominated by instant communication, handwritten letters had become rare-a practice mostly kept alive by the older generation. They carried a nostalgic charm, a reminder of a time when words were given more weight and thought.

Skylar unfolded the letter, her curiosity piqued. At first, it seemed mundane, but as she read further, her expression turned grave.

The letter was from Alexander's friend, Waldo Brewer. In it, Waldo explained that his granddaughter, Haven Brewer, had been insisting she was a reborn individual. She had been pleading with him not to undergo heart bypass surgery, claiming that if he did, he would never survive the operation. Waldo, though ready for the procedure, was deeply unsettled by Haven's warnings. While the rest of the family dismissed her claims, Waldo couldn't shake his unease and sought Alexander's help.

"Do you think it's possible for someone to be reborn? Or could this be another case of a negative item influencing someone?" Alexander asked after Skylar finished reading.

Skylar shook her head. "It's too early to tell. Whether she's truly reborn or under the influence of a negative item, we need more information. Interestingly, this is the third time recently I've encountered someone claiming to be reborn.noveldrama

"In both instances, the claims were tied to negative items. To determine if that's the case here, I'll need to meet Haven in person."

Alexander's frustration was palpable. "Why can't these cursed items just disappear? It's infuriating how they're used to hurt others. Absolutely despicable."

Skylar shared his sentiment. The situation was growing increasingly complex.

These so-called rebirths seemed to be connected to her, as if someone knew about her past life and shared her fate of being reborn. Her own rebirth had already caused ripples, altering the fates of the Williams family and Christopher.

As the implications sank in, Skylar's expression hardened.

That evening, as night fell, Skylar took a long bath before settling on her bed with a book. She hoped reading might quiet her restless thoughts.

But the meeting with Alexander and the contents of the letter lingered in her mind, refusing to let her relax.

Joe emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying his hair. He immediately noticed the tension in her demeanor.

"What's on your mind?" he asked, approaching her.

Skylar looked up, her gaze clouded with worry. "Someone else is claiming to be reborn. I can't shake

the feeling that whoever's behind

this is targeting me. They minne

even know me from a past life."

She had spent hours pondering who could be creating these negative items. The Williams family was no longer a threat-most members were either imprisoned or deceased, and Samuel had no knowledge of such things.

As for others, Skylar had always maintained good relations with most people, rarely making enemies. Yet, the question remained-who could hold such a grudge against her?
