My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 21

Edith tried to maintain her front as a strong and independent woman. Yet in the face of Jasper's rage, even she felt terrified and uneasy.

Sensing that she had made a mistake, she decided to pick her words carefully. "Sir, about the mess in your office... Four kids barged in and destroyed everything."

When she spoke, she didn't dare to make eye contact with Jasper. Her heart was drumming against her rib cage, afraid he would press further. Compared to the mess in the office, Edith was more worried about him finding out the reason behind the children's visit to his

office today.

Willow, standing nearby, was so nervous that she held her breath.

From Edith's explanation, it seemed Julian wasn't the only one who came. The rest of the children followed, too. Were they really the ones who trashed Jasper's office? If he ever caught them in the act, would have given them a harsh beating?

Willow lowered her head, and stared silently at her feet. She was so afraid of being noticed that she didn't even dare to breathe too loudly.

Jasper lifted his chin in disbelief. He was so angry, he couldn't be bothered to shout at them. And yet, his expression was darker than the sky outside.

"I don't care how you do it, but I want you to track down those despicable brats! I'll make their families pay for this!" he hissed.

While his foul mood was initially attributed to his losing control over his urges, his anger surged the moment he saw his office in such a terrible mess. What?

Despicable brats?

Willow was annoyed when she heard Jasper refer to her babies as despicable brats.

Her children were all obedient and understanding. They would never cause such a mess without rhyme or reason. They must've been frightened by something in the first place. The mess was unintentional. Despite her anger, Willow kept her head down. She didn't dare make a single squeak.

Jasper was still fuming from the ears, insisting on compensation. As the single mother of these children, she felt pained when she imagined the sum she would have to fork over for the damages.

She prayed he would never find out who the kids belonged to, and insist she pay compensation.noveldrama

She was already struggling to put food on the table. How could she possibly afford to pay compensation?

When Jasper mentioned tracking down the children, Edith stole a glance at Willow. At that moment, her eyes were filled with hatred and hostility.

She was mostly worried that Willow would claim she was the mother of those children. If Willow brought them back here to apologize to Jasper face-to-face, then it was only a matter of time before he found out the truth. Jasper would also find out that Willow was the woman he had been searching for, and that she wasn't dead yet.

Thankfully, Willow didn't do that.

In fact, it seemed she had no idea that Jasper was the father of her children.

Otherwise, she would have told him the truth. Surely anyone in her position would have revealed the truth to Jasper?

After a quick analysis of the situation, Edith said, "Yes, Mr. Hughes. I'll try my best to look into those children."

Finally, Jasper took a deep breath. He was a clean freak, so he couldn't stay any longer when he saw that his office had turned into a war zone.

He directed a spiteful glare at Willow. Then he stormed off angrily, with Edith hot on his trail.

Willow was about to follow them, but Edith turned around and glared angrily at her. "What are you doing? Go clean up the office!"

"But I..." Willow sputtered.
