Chapter 32
Chapter
32
It took a moment for Noelle to retort, "Fine. I'll blame myself! Happy?" She blamed herself for being blind and not seeing through this so-called "family bond" sooner!
She stormed back into the classroom, leaving Frank standing outside helplessly. He genuinely wanted to mend their relationship, but Noelle seemed determined to keep him at arm's length. He wondered about how he could make her understand that he was only strict with her because she was his biological sister.
Xenia wasn't related to them by blood, so he had no expectations for her. He really wasn't being biased!noveldrama
Xenia approached him cautiously. "I'm sorry, Frank. Maybe I should just move out. That way, Noelle will stop being angry with all of you."
She continued, "I'd hate to be the reason your relationship is souring."
Frank forced a smile. "Don't be silly. This has nothing to do with you, so you don't need to move out. After all, you're my sister and always will be."
Xenia broke out into a tearful grin. "Pinky promise?"
Frank was pleased with her attitude. He wished Noelle were as understanding. "Just focus on your studies. Don't ask your classmates to do your homework anymore," he said warmly. Xenia's smile faltered. "I know I was wrong."
"Correcting your mistakes is what matters."
Frank compared Xenia's honest attitude and could not help wishing that Noelle could do the
same.
Back in the classroom, Noelle noticed the empty seat where Gwen used to sit but felt no sympathy.
A few days later, the school issued a notice regarding the cheating incident. Gwen had received an official warning and demerits, while Xenia was reprimanded in front of the entire class.
Then, Lionel held up the latest test results and announced, "The exam scores are out now. I want to praise Noelle for showing remarkable improvement. She came in tenth place this time. She's the perfect example of how powerful a final push can be, and all of you should learn
from her."
The class instantly buzzed with excitement.
"Oh my gosh, not only is she good at gaming, but her grades are amazing too!"
"If she can improve this much, I must still have a chance. I want to apply to the same university as her!"
"How does she manage to excel at both at the same time?"
Noelle looked at her score. She smiled in satisfaction. She wondered if this meant that she had a real shot at Yole University.
Lionel turned to her, smiling. "Noelle, why don't you share some tips on how you improved so much? I'm sure your classmates could learn a thing or two."
After all, Noelle had been performing exceptionally well lately.
Noelle stood up, surprisingly nervous. "It's simple. I realized that I should be living for
myself. Since then, I've been staying up late doing practice questions."
This time, she would work hard for herself, not for her family. After all, she had sacrificed so much in her past life to only end up dying.
Xenia watched Noelle bask in the spotlight, her face twisting with jealousy. She inwardly questioned why that bitch had done so well in her exams.
Xenia glared at her own scores and crumpled the paper into a ball. She blamed Gwen for being careless and getting caught. Otherwise, her scores would have been so much better.
After their lunch break, Noelle returned to the classroom. She was surprised to find a few love letters on her desk.
Sophia leaned over and commented, "You're so popular now that everyone knows you're great at gaming and a top student. Even the heartthrob from the school next door is trying to ask for your number." The heartthrob from the school next door? Wasn't that Xenia's secret crush?
What do you think?
