Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 529

Cameron was shaking like a leaf. "Nathalie, please don't do this. Nina's listening, and it's just too harsh for her."

Nathalie shot back, "Oh, so it's fine for you to play games with my heart, but not okay when it's the other way around?"

Cameron's face turned pale. "Nathalie, I messed up. I'm ready to spend the rest of my life making it up to you and our daughter."

"I don't need your apologies," Nathalie shouted, her voice full of fury.

She pointed at Cameron, her anger almost visible. "If you really wanted to make amends, you wouldn't be here disrupting my life. I've found my light at the end of the tunnel." Cameron's eyes sparked with a glimmer of hope. "You mean Nathan? He's not your savior, Nathalie. Trust me, Nathan isn't as straightforward as he appears."

Nathalie's eyes flashed coldly. "Cameron, I can't stand anyone badmouthing Nathan."

Cameron was momentarily taken aback, jealousy and envy swirling inside him at how fiercely Nathalie defended Nathan.

He wanted to break the bond between Nathalie and Nathan. "Nathalie, I've done my homework on him. There's a lot about him that doesn't add up. You need to be cautious." "Shut up," Nathalie snapped, her temper flaring. "A man who ditches his family and drives his own mother to her death has no business judging Nathan."

Cameron's eyes darkened, losing their light bit by bit.

Nathalie had had enough and turned to leave.

From behind, Cameron shouted, "Nathalie, Paige never trafficked Nathan... Was your meeting with Nathan all part of his plan from the start?" Nathalie stopped dead in her tracks.

The tale of Nathan being kidnapped, mistreated, and then rescued by her was how their story began.

Now, Cameron was claiming that Nathan had never been trafficked?

Nathalie turned back, a mocking smile on her lips. "You believe Paige when she says she didn't traffic Nathan?"

"I don't buy it. I trust what I've seen with my own eyes."

Without glancing back, Nathalie walked away.

Nina

From behind, Nina's quiet sobs reached her ears.

"Mommy, I'm sorry."

Nathalie's expression hardened. "You've lived two lives and sharpened your cunning. Too bad

places."

Her anger simmered as she continued, "What did Uncle Nathan ever do to you? How could you betray him?"

Nina murmured, "Mommy, I just feel sorry for daddy."

"You pity him?" Nathalie paused.

Sensing her mother's anger, Nina quickly shook her head. "I wouldn't dare."

Nathalie started walking again. "If you do it again, you can go live with Cameron."

Nina clung to her leg, crying her heart out. "Mommy, I won't do it again."

Nathalie lifted her up. She was her daughter, after all, and a stern talking-to was enough.

By the time they got home, it was pitch black outside.

Yet, the house staff was bustling around, carrying buckets full of flower petals to the trash.

The sight of the red petals tugged at Nathalie's heart.

"Where did these petals come from?" she asked the staff.

"Ma'am..." They looked regretful. "Why did you come back so late?"

"The greenhouse Sir made for you was

couldn't find you... he got anxious and worried..."

"What are you all chattering about?" Dominick suddenly appeared.

The staff quickly dispersed.
