Chapter 273
(King Pison's Pov)
I was still deep in sleep when I heard a harsh whisper in my ears.
"Get up!"
At first, I ignored the voice and snuggled deeper into sleep. It's been a long time since I ever felt so... comfortable.
"Get up now!"
My eyes opened and I sat up.
The room reeked of death and a dark shadow hovered above me. It was so thick it looked like a cloud amidst the dimly lit room.
Hades.
For a moment, I assumed I was in some kind of trance, but when I balled my fists and dug my claws into the flesh of my palm, I knew this was real. This was unusual. As much as Hades was my deity, he never revealed his presence in this manner.
I watched the cloud sweep over to one side of the room into a human-like form, although there was nothing else to it, it was just shadows. "You refused to heed my warnings." Hades's voice rang out in the room.
I frowned, sitting up "I don't understand."
"Eden." He snapped. "She's gone."
I frowned, finding it a little difficult to understand. My eyes widened suddenly, and I whipped my head to the side to check the bed for Eden.
She wasn't there... And something felt missing. Instinctively, my hand reached for the pendant on my neck.
Empty.
Eden stole the antidote.
If she was after the antidote, that would mean she knew exactly what it was used for.
I jumped to my feet as shame washed over me. "I am so sorry," I tried apologizing but Hades growled loudly that I shivered "If she interrupts with our plans, I will punish you severely!" With that, he vanished.
I bowed quickly, and scurried to track Eden with her scent.
Hades warned me, but I allowed myself believe that Eden could be bought with a taste of power. I had been foolish, and she was just deceiving me all along.
I clenched my jaw in fury. I was going to teach her a terrible lesson she would never forget. Then I mindlinked my top rogue warriors
"Eden, my soon-to-be bride is missing. Find her and bring her to me!" I ordered.
"Yes, your highness." They responded
I left the room in haste, walking as fast as I could in the direction of her scent. It led me to the dungeon. fought hard to stop myself from shifting cause I knew the damage that'll happen if I do that.
I might kill Eden on sight.
I sniffed the air in disgust. The area reeked of alcohol.
I noticed that starting from the rogue guarding the entrance to the ones inside, they were all asleep. I growled in fury.
Fools. They were supposed to be on guard at all times, not drunk.
I entered just in time to see Eden giving Ryker the antidote.
"Stop!" I bellowed.
Eden jumped, startled. She looked back at me in shock, obviously not expecting to see me here.
I growled, my voice deep and menacing. Despite that, Eden didn't put down her hand and kept the antidote on Ryker's lips.
I wasn't perturbed as I knew the antidote would have a slow effect on Ryker who was still chained to the wolfsbane.
I looked at the cage, two other hybrid male and female that were caged together seemed to be healing, and I knew Eden had given them the antidote too.
I recognized them as Eden's friends, the ones that always moved with Eros.
"Step away from him or I'll kill your friends." I ordered.
Eden paused, looked back at her friends watching her from the cage then back at Ryker who was still too weak to understand what was going on. Knowing it was one or the other, she backed off.
One of the guards stirred slightly, growled something incoherent and went back to sleep. "You fools!" I bellowed.
Enraged, my blood boiled in fury and my claws elongated as I dashed at the guards. One by one, I grabbed them off their seats and ripped out their hearts, killing them as soon as
they stirred from sleep.
In less than a minute, I had a trail of blood behind me and ripped flesh. I wiped a bloody hand over my face, blood stains leaving a line in its wake.
Eden shook. I could see her hands tremble slightly as her eyes almost popped out of their sockets. It was obvious she was terrified of me.
She should be.
In one beat, I closed the space between us, grabbed her by the neck and slammed her against the ground.
She screamed, her pain like music to my ears.
I smirked. "I'm going to break you, and still have you please me in bed." I said icily, my beast showing.
Sounds of running footsteps suddenly filled the room, as my other warriors arrived. I could sense the shock they felt at the bloody sight they beheld, but I couldn't care less.
I raised Eden up by the neck and flung her against the wall that it cracked.
"Throw her into the cell of the stubborn harem." I said and walked off.
She would feel at home there. Just like her, the other women refuses to submit... Eden will equally be given an horrible treatment.noveldrama
