The Cherished Wife



Noelle was peeling an apple for Nancy when she looked up and saw Tania standing at the door. She smiled and said, "Tania, you're back?"

The room fell silent, and the first to react was Brandon. He climbed down from Peter's lap and ran over to Tania, wrapping his little arms around her legs. "Mommy, Mr. Lennon said he's taking me to the amusement park."

"Amusement park?" Tania frowned and looked at Peter in surprise.

"What are you doing here?" Tania's tone was not friendly. She had been so focused on Brandon that she had not noticed Peter's presence. Seeing how much Brandon seemed to like Peter, a hint of worry appeared on her face.

Peter watched Brandon jump off his lap. He was concerned that Brandon might hurt himself. Even as Brandon ran to Tania, Peter's gaze remained soft, filled with a gentle warmth.

Sensing the tension in the air, Noelle quickly intervened, "Peter came to check on Aunt Nancy. By the way, Tania, what did the doctor say?"

She handed the task of peeling apples over to Peter, then stood up and lifted Brandon into her arms. "It seems like Brandon really likes Peter."

As soon as Noelle said this, Tania's face turned pale. She hurriedly took Brandon from Noelle's arms, as if afraid someone would take him away from her. "Noelle, let me carry him," she said, her tone tense.

Then, turning to Peter, she added coldly, "Mr. Lennon, now that you've seen my mother and if there's nothing else, please leave."

Peter pressed his lips together but did not respond to Tania's request. Instead, he lowered his head and continued peeling the apple in his hand.

If one were to look closely, one could sense the tension radiating from him. It was like the calm before a storm.

However, contrary to everyone's expectations, Peter did not explode. After peeling the apple, he finally looked up at Tania with a neutral expression and said, "I'm here to see Mom, not you."

"That's my mother," Tania retorted. She had seen shameless people before, but never someone like Peter.

"She's our mom," Peter replied, handing a peeled apple to Nancy. "Mom, here you go."

"Oh, thank you." Nancy glanced at the group and sighed quietly. However, she did not say anything. The affairs between the younger generation were not hers to meddle with.

Seeing that Nancy did not reject

Peter's gesture, a smile appeared on

his face. Meanwhile, Tania's expression darkened, but with both Nancy and Brandon present, ske could not lash out at Peter the way she wanted to.

Brandon, seeing Nancy take a bite of the apple, tugged at Tania's sleeve and said, "Grandma has an apple. Why don't I have one? Mr. Lennon, you're playing favorites!"

"You want one too?" Peter asked, his expression softening as he looked at Brandon. "How about I peel one for you?"

"Yes!" Brandon clapped his hands. "Mommy, put me down. I want Mr. Lennon to carry me."

"Why?" Tania was displeased. "I can carry you too."

"You can, but you're tired. Mr.noveldrama

Lennon isn't tired," Brandon said with an innocent smile, reaching out to pat Tania's face. "Mommy, don't be jealous. I love you the most."

Tania was so moved by Brandon's words that she nearly teared up.

Upon hearing this, Peter glanced at Tania and Brandon. Upon closer inspection, one could see that Brandon's eyebrows and eyes bore a striking resemblance to Tania's.

Peter stood up. "Let me take him." Without waiting for further protest, he lifted Brandon from Tania's arms.

Tania stood there in a daze for a moment, and by the time she snapped out of it, Brandon was already sitting on Peter's lap.

Peter held him securely while peeling an apple for him.

Brandon watched Peter's apple-peeling skills with wide eyes, clearly impressed. "Uncle, you're so good at this! My mommy always breaks the peel when she does it." He clapped his hands and added, "MrLennon, don't break the peel!"

"Alright." Peter chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I won't break it, I promise."

Noelle watched the interaction between Peter and Brandon, then glanced at Tania.

Perhaps those involved could not see it, but as an outsider, Noelle could see things clearly.
