The Cherished Wife

Chapter 899

"I think Brandon quite likes the idea," Peter said calmly.

"You..." Tania was at a loss for words.

At that moment, Noelle knocked on the door, interrupting them. "Peter, could you come with me for a moment?"

Peter's expression softened when he saw Noelle. He nodded. "Charles just called me."

"Yeah, sorry to trouble you. Charlie's worried about me going alone. Mr. Smith is busy at work, so you're my only option."

Peter nodded and handed Brandon back to Tania. "Let's go."

Tania almost could not reach out to Brandon in time, and almost immediately, Brandon began to cry.

"Mr. Lennon doesn't want to take me out. Mr. Lennon is a bad person!"

Peter was already at the door when he heard Brandon's cries. He stopped, glancing back at Tania.

Tania bit her lip. She had not expected Brandon to get so attached to Peter. Seeing Peter leave, Brandon wriggled out of her arms, his little legs quickly carrying him over to Peter.

He grabbed Peter's leg with both arms, looking up with tear-filled eyes. "Mr. Lennon, please take me with you!" Brandon's small, tear-streaked face tugged at Peter's heart.noveldrama

Peter knelt down, gently stroking Brandon's head. "Brandon, be good and stay with your mom. I need to go out with Aunt Noelle."

"Why are you going with Aunt Noelle and not taking me and Mommy with you?" Brandon's voice, innocent yet direct, pierced through the tension in the ward.

Peter cast a sideways glance at Tania, noticing the conflicted expression on her face. He furrowed his brows. "He's just a child. Can't you indulge him a little?"

"I—" Tania started, but Brandon's pleading voice interrupted her.

"Mommy, I want to play with Mr. Lennon!" Brandon cried out, his voice full of longing.

Tania's frustration mounted as she

looked at her son. Brandon was her flesh and blood; she could not bear to see him upset. However, it was Peter so how could she allow this? If Brandon grew closer to Peter, what if...

The mere thought of it made her feel suffocated. "No, if you want to play, I can play with you." Brandon's face crumpled, tears flowing once again. "Mommy, you don't love me anymore."

"Brandon, no! Don't cry!" Noelle's heart clenched at the sight of the crying boy.

She quickly knelt down beside him to console him, "Brandon, do you want to go out?"

Brandon nodded vigorously, tears still glistening in his eyes.

Noelle smiled. "Then, how about I take you out? Mr. Lennon can come too." She glanced at Tania. "Tania, if you're worried, you can come with us." "But my mom shouldn't be left alone." Tania hesitated.

"Tania, it's fine. Your father will be here soon." Nancy, who had been woken by the commotion, saw Brandon's tear-streaked face and immediately felt a pang of sympathy.

"Brandon's still so young. How can you bear to let him cry like this?"

"Mom..." Tania began, guilt creeping into her voice.

"Enough. You all should go out. I need to rest. With everyone here, I can't sleep soundly," Nancy said firmly, essentially dismissing them.

With her mother sending them away

and Brandon's tearful face pulling at

her heartstrings, Tania could not keep resisting. "Alright, I'll take Brandon out for a little walk, but if anything happens, call me right away."

"What could possibly happen? Besides, this is Sean's hospital. You have nothing to worry about with him around. Now, go on. Look at poor Brandon's face!" Nancy waved them off.

"Alright then." Tania finally relented. "I'll take Brandon out for a while."

"Hooray! I get to go out with Mommy and Mr. Lennon!" Brandon cheered, his little face lighting up with joy.
