The Cherished Wife



Charles's striking face loomed close, making her blink. She let out an awkward chuckle and touched her nose. "Charles, what's with the intense stare?"

A playful twinkle danced in Charles's eyes. "If you're so fond of kids, why don't we make one of our own?"

Make one?

Noelle's heart pounded a chaotic rhythm, and she blinked, her cheeks burning as she looked at Charles, particularly into those gorgeous eyes of his. She swallowed hard. "Well... I think it'll happen when it's meant to happen!"

"So, my lady, are you saying you'd like to have one too?" Charles slid his arm around Noelle's shoulders, drawing her in.

Side by side on the bench, Noelle rested her head lightly against Charles's shoulder, peering up at his profile. "Uh..." Did she mean it? Maybe she had not considered it too much!

No matter what, Noelle had a soft spot for kids, and Brandon, with his cuteness overload, was no exception. Whenever she pictured her own future kids being as sweet as him, her heart just melted. "Actually, that sounds pretty awesome!"

However, Noelle then snapped out of her daydream. "Hold on. We were supposed to be talking about Peter, Tania, and Brandon's deal."

"Yep!" Charles glanced over at the trio nearby, who really stood out in the crowd.

Noelle giggled. "You'd never guess Peter could be anything but Mr. Serious, but around Brandon and Tania, he's a totally different guy!"

"You've got a bit of a crush on Peter, huh?" Charles teased, arching an eyebrow as if to say, 'Do you think he's better than me?'

Noelle burst out laughing. "No way, I'm just trying to figure out how to get Tania and Peter back on track. You don't get it, but growing up without a dad is tough. I always wanted my parents' love and a family that's all about the joy."

"Let it go. They'll sort themselves out. Peter's got it under control. Anyway, those photos..."

"They're pretty great, aren't they?" Noelle beamed, showing off the snaps she had just taken like they were her prized possessions. "Check it out, Brandon and Peter

"Have you sent them to Peter yet?" Charles cut in with a sudden question.

Noelle paused, a bit thrown off. "Not yet. I mean, we're on 4G out here, and it eats up so much data. Plus, I've shot a ton of videos. I should probably sort them out before send them to Peter. Why do you ask?"

Charles gave a sly grin and casually slipped Noelle's phone into his pocket He then started toying with her delicate fingers, all the while his gaze sharp and fixed on Peter and Tania.

His lips twisted into a mischievous smirk.

Noelle eyed Charles warily. "Charles, what's with the creepy smile all of a sudden? It's kind of freaking me out!"

Charles gently squeezed her hand. "Peter wrecked your car. Don't you think you should get something out of him for that?"

Noelle's mouth quirked in a half-smile. "However, Peter already said sorry this morning, and didn't he promise to make it up to me with the latest Ferrari?"

Noelle blinked, puzzled by Charles's calculating look. Was he really planning to get back at Peter?noveldrama

Charles's grin widened. "A Ferrari? That's letting him off too easily. Think about what you really want, and once you've got that figured out, we'll talk to Peter."

"Uh..." Noelle thought, intrigued by the idea. That could actually work!
