Chapter 2223
Pax remained calm as a cucumber. "What's there to get jealous about? The girls would flock to you by the dozens if you're as strong as him. So instead of getting jealous, you should work on improving yourself instead."
Everyone was left smiling in wry amusement.
Improve themselves? Who were they kidding?
With their measly potential, they would not catch up to Frank in this lifetime, let alone hold a candle to him.
Meanwhile, in the underground passage, Frank and Alda arrived at a specious chamber where various curious potted fauna were growing.
An eightyish geezer was strolling around it, carefully arranging the leaves.
"You're here," he breathed as he sensed Frank and Alda's arrival, glancing at them before continuing tending to his plants.
"Who are you?" Alda quickly asked, sensing danger.
"Who I am doesn't matter." The geezer smiled. "The important thing is for you to know yourself."
Although he was answering Alda's question, his eyes were fixed on Frank.
Frank snorted impatiently. "I know very well who I am. Time is short, and this is important for me let's get started already."
Flashing a wry smile and shaking his head, the geezer retorted, "Well, aren't you eager to die, kid? I must say that your temper doesn't match your strength."
Frank rolled his eyes, annoyed. "What do you want?!"
The geezer sighed. "This is the final trial. Overcome it, and I can tell you certain secrets. Fail it, and there's nothing I can do."noveldrama
He suddenly waved his withered left hand, and suddenly, tendrils extended out of the pots, each of it streaking toward Frank.
Nheless, with precision and agility, Frank dodged the tendrils and circled back so that the tendrils coiled against each other. As the tendrils were left immobile, Frank seized the opening to reach the geezer.
The geezer was stunned, but he
soon smiled calmly and pointed axet

Frank growled coolly in turn, "Seeing that you have manners, I can let you tell me everything before you die."
"Then I shall thank you for it." The old man nodded. "So, do you know what the spiritron vein really is?"
He did not wait for Frank to answer,
however, and continued his

"Remember the vandalized part of that tomb mural? It clearly recorded where that energy is from. It sounds superstitious, but it's actually a part of science, ironically discovered in an ancient tomb."
Frank was only left further confused.
Before he could ask, however, the geezer's face fell, his eyes threatening to pop out of their sockets.
And with a gasp, he dropped heavily on the ground.
As Frank dashed toward him, he saw that the geezer was no longer breathing, his internal organs eaten away.
Even with Frank's immaculate skill in medicine, there was nothing he could do!
Alda was left unsure how to react to that. "Did he just kill himself?"
They had gone through trials and tribulations to reach this place, but the final boss killed himself as soon as they met. This was just ridiculous!
What do you think?
