When They Beg, I Rise!

Chapter 432

"It's true what they say about karma," Lemira mused, her gaze lifting to the night sky at the sound of helicopter blades cutting through the air above the abandoned factory. Orion, with his usual stern expression, descended from the helicopter, an aura of vengeance about him.

Thaddeus followed, issuing orders, "Split up and search."

Hearing footsteps above, Lemira worried it wasn't the cops, deciding to head downstairs first. Yet, as she approached the stairwell, she found herself surrounded.

Orion, leading the pack, noticed Lemira's battered state, his eyes narrowing in concern. He quickened his pace towards her, his voice hoarse with worry, "Why didn't you call?"noveldrama

It was only through her live stream notification that he'd pieced together what had happened.

Lemira offered a weak smile, "It all happened so fast."

She had suspected Evelina was eavesdropping but didn't want to alert Caspian, who was overly cautious about surveillance-she had only one shot at this.

"I'm taking you to the hospital," Orion declared, his emotions choked back as he scooped Lemira into his arms.

"Let's hit the precinct first, the media should be swarming by now," she insisted, pushing away from his embrace, "Don't worry, it's mostly superficial. I remembered how to avoid the vital spots, just like you taught me." Orion's concern deepened at the sight of her swollen arm, "Lemira, why don't you take better care of yourself?"

She shrugged off his concern, determined to make her move against Caspian. Limping forward, Orion supported her, cautioning her to watch her step with a hint of irritation in his voice.

"Could you maybe not say something so morbid?"

Thaddeus lit their path with a flashlight as they exited the building, where police immediately approached, "You should get to the hospital first."

"I need to document my injuries," Lemira stated flatly.

Orion frowned, "Then it's to the hospital we go."

Noticing the absence of media, Lemira felt a twinge of disappointment.

Orion, taking charge, assured her, "If you're aiming to use the media to spotlight this, we'll arrange it after the hospital. That's your priority now, got it?"

Lemira nodded in agreement.

That's when Evelina approached, her expression twisted in disdain, "You're only going to make the Langston family despise you more. I never thought you'd be so ruthless.

you Caspian's sister?"

Evelina was panicking, aware that Caspian was cornered.

Staring her down, Lemira turned to the officers, "She's involved. She's me

been stirring trouble between and Caspian, encouraging him to harm me."

"Evelina, you're spouting nonsense!" Evelina's voice rose in desperation.

Yet, the police took Evelina away as she screamed threats about Asher coming to her rescue.

Lemira smirked, doubting Asher's loyalty in the face of his own interests.

Soon, Caspian and his tattooed thugs were escorted out in handcuffs, Caspian severely injured and bloodied on a stretcher.

Approaching him, Lemira was taken aback by the extent of his injuries.

"Enjoying the view, Lemira?" Caspian sneered, "If my face is ruined, I swear it's war between us!"
