Chapter 1309
"I won't hurt you!"
Kayden kept his last words to himself. A thought flashed across his mind before he brought her in. It'd be the death of him if he defiled her!
He knew this was a chance the heavens had given him!
But he hesitated. It would've still been fine if she was just Tevye, but her identity now was completely different! Being a Luther aside, she had already gotten the Bowles family's recognition. Even if he had gotten his momentary pleasure, he'd only end up disowned, and his reputation would be crushed even if it wouldn't be the end of him.noveldrama
It was too great of a price to pay!
Hence, after bringing her here, the first thing he did was to take all sorts of pictures, wanting to trigger that guy every now and then. But who would've thought he did nothing?!
Thinking back to their first family dinner, Kayden inexplicably wanted to chuckle when he recalled Yvette calling him handsome uncle. Then in their later encounters, the little one wasn't afraid of him for some reason, constantly revolving around him, either asking what he was doing or what he was going to do. Though he thought she was noisy and annoying, even hating her for stealing Grandpa's affections from him, he found that he was beginning to miss her childish voice after not seeing her for some time.
Sweet little girls had always been inexplicably lovable; what more a gorgeous one!
He'd get upset whenever he saw her clinging to Grandpa and chatting to him with her sweet baby voice, but then looking at how soft and cuddly she looked, he couldn't help wanting to hold her in his arms, incredibly envious when he saw Willy carrying her. But then she wasn't his. So he'd always give the idea up in the end!
But thinking about it now, he thought he was being ridiculous. How could he buttheads with a three-year-old? Alas, he could only blame fate for not letting them meet sooner!
No, it still wasn't too late! He could have his own daughter, one even more beautiful than Yvette. Even better, a pair!
He still had plenty of chances!
As he imagined having a family of his own, color began leaking into his long-shrouded dark world.
Looking back at the woman he once fell in love with now, he left it all behind him. He was an excellent man; how could he be obsessed with a mother? He'd be a laughing stock if word got out his life was ruined because of her, wouldn't he?
No, he couldn't be such a loser!
Either way, he shouldn't hurt her! So he had to find a way out for himself!
Free from the trouble gnawing at him, Kayden's sinister look instantly brightened, and he spun the blade in his hand faster the next second.
"Don't you women always say you'll know what kind of man you've married if you gave him a child? You definitely don't have the chance for now; why don't I test it out for you?"
Lauren was still woozy, and before she knew it, her shirt had been slit open.
"Ah! What are you doing?"
"Stay still! Don't move... Do you want me to slit your shirt, or we..." Kayden gestured as he let his words trail. He then tugged a corner of her shirt, slitting another opening.
"You sure are dumb, falling into the same trap no matter how you evaded! You have indeed given him a sweet daughter, but you probably don't know this yet. Our family had always given birth to boys, but Grandpa adores little girls. He even said in the past, whoever was the first to give him a great- granddaughter, he'd inherit half of the family fortune. Tell me, what kind of dumb luck does Willy have to be able to get himself a gorgeous wife and daughter and also have a share of the inheritance, all for nothing? He sure has taken all the nice things to himself, hasn't he?"
As he rambled, he waved the knife in his hand.
"Then again, who knows just how much he loves you and how long can it last. They all say a man will turn horrible after they become rich. Do you think he'll still love you if he finds out you have an affair? I really want to find out!"
It was apparent to him that she didn't know many things, seeing she was utterly confused. Not waiting for her to answer, he continued.
"You don't know, do you? He had a long-term girlfriend back then; they even nearly got married, but she cheated on him with another guy, for what reason I don't know, and he didn't see it with his own eyes either, but..."
He paused deliberately before continuing.
"He didn't do anything about it! His first love, the first relationship he poured his heart into, yet he gave it up just like that. He didn't even try! So I wonder if a woman is not that important to a man, or more accurately to him! Men can call many people their buddies, but there are three things others can't touch, their woman, their child, and their career. These are probably every men's limits!"
With that, he slit another opening on her shirt. Seeing that she looked disoriented, probably lost in thought, he wondered if she even heard a word he said. Frustrated, he inched closer to her.
"Tell me, if he sees you like this-"
As she wondered if the girlfriend he talked about was Cloud, his sudden approach startled her, leading her to reflexively move her arm, which the sharp blade accidentally grazed, causing a bit of blood to ooze out.
"Ah!"
"You're bleeding. Don't move!"
Kayden instinctually threw the blade away and grabbed her arm, wanting to give her some first aid. But not used to the physical contact, she struggled instinctively.
"No, go away! Don't touch me!"
"I told you not to move!"
Seeing Kayden and Lauren in an entanglement as he busted the door open, Willy charged toward Kayden and hurled a punch at him.
"You b*stard!"
A powerful force dragged Lauren before she could process what was going on, and her head started throbbing again as her head spun. "Hmm..."
Lexx was also taken aback when he
came in behind Willy. There were only two people in the room, and the bed was a mess. Lauren had a comforter wrapped around her,
disheveled, and even limp, w'
Kayden's suit jacket and belt were thrown aside, his sleeves rolled up as well. It was impossible for people to think otherwise seeing the chaotic scene.
Then again, he had only flustered for a couple of seconds before he hurriedly turned around, shoving the group outside before they could turn into the partition. Meanwhile, Willy grabbed Kayden by the collar and punched and kicked him like a
madman. Similarly upsexden retaliated, and the two began brawling.
A couple of seconds after regaining consciousness, Lauren hurriedly reached out to stop Willy when she turned around to see the chaos.
"No, stop, Willy..."
"Listen to me, no!"
Willy, eyes bloodshot, unable to hear anything, hurled his punches as he let his anger control him, wanting to beat his cousin to death.
"B*stard! Animal! Do you know who she is? I looked beyond everything you've done because you're family, but how dare you do this to her! You piece of trash! I'm going to kill you!"
"Why would you hurt her? You b*stard!"
"You're the one who came in and stole her away halfway! Give her to me if it bothers you so much! I don't mind! I'll treat her well!"
Hearing Kayden's words, Willy, beyond livid, wrapped his vein- throbbing hands around his neck, choking him. While the two were in a heated brawl, Willy's phone kept ringing, but nobody had the time forthat.
"What the f*ck are you talking about? She's a human! A living, breathing human! My wife! What do you take her for? How can you even say something like that? Do you think she's a Ferrari you've taken a fancy to? I won't lay a finger on her even if I kill you!"
Kayden thought he was going to pass out anytime soon as his breathing got difficult, feeling Willy persistently tightening his grip. "You'll join me in hell if you kill me. Also, Grandpa-"
Just when he thought he was about to meet the grim reaper before he figured out his last words, the force on his neck suddenly disappeared and a shot of wind whizzed past his ear. The next second, Willy slammed his fist on the glass cab aside. As the shattering glass fell to the ground, the pungent smell of blood began filling the air. Content belongs
As Kayden's eyes met his cousin's, he forgot to breathe, unable to utter a word for a long time. It was his first time seeing such sadness and hesitation in Willy's eyes.
He didn't even need Willy to speak up to know he let go right then because he mentioned Grandpa; he still considered him family. Alas, the blood of the Bowles family coursed through their veins!
In the past, he always saw him as the sworn enemy he wished he could kill. But right then, he suddenly had a subtle sense of happiness that he was loved; subtle, yes, but very different.
Before he could even explain himself, he saw Willy slowly raising his bloody hand, holding a shard of glass in it.
What was he going to do? He wasn't still thinking of killing him, was he?
Kayden instinctively shook his head then, his eyes widened in shock. But the more he tried to speak, the harder he could utter a word, beads of cold sweat forming on his forehead.
"Yes, I can't kill you, I can't kill you... What's the point of killing a b*stard like you?" "But, I can cripple you! The reason you're so brazen is that Grandpa spoiled you rotten! Why should I let you have everything you want? I'll make you wish you were dead!"
Willy mumbled like he had been possessed, his stare horrifying as he sent the shard of glass between his legs.
"Don't, ah..."
Kayden shut his eyes tightly and opened his mouth, finally finding his voice after a long time, screaming in horror as though he was genuinely meeting his end, his whole body stiff.
However, the pain he anticipated never came. He opened his eyes to find Lauren in front of him, grabbing Willy's hand with both of hers. The glass had sunken into her shoulder, blood oozing out. It was apparent how much force Willy used.
"Laurie..."
Jolted back to his senses, Willy let go and grabbed her. "What are you doing? Are you out of your mind? Why are you so foolish?"
"You're going to be okay; I'm going to take you to the hospital!"
As he stroked her hair, something came to his mind, and he quickly removed his jacket, wrapping it around her.
"You're going to be okay, don't worry. You'll be okay soon! Don't be scared. Let's go home.
Everything will be the same as before! Nothing happened. Don't be scared! I've got you..." Lauren, on the other hand, pulled on Willy's shirt, shaking her head non-stop as she smiled faintly.
"Don't! He saved me! Kayden... he didn't hurt me! He was the one who saved me just now!"
