Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1312

"So... I'm not exactly at fault either!"

As Kayden scratched his head, he suddenly realized sitting next to his cousin wasn't as unbearable as he imagined. In fact, the small get-together right then was more pleasant than any past rivalry!

Though it was still embarrassing if word got out that they, a bunch of men, were utterly fooled by a woman!

Taking another look at Willy and the lovely little one in his arms, Kayden added firmly in his mind.

Though he was on his own then, his cousin was the more humiliating one. No fear, someone had it worse than him!

Yvette naturally wouldn't fully understand what the adults were talking about. But when she heard 'fight' as she bit down a slice of apple, she realized they were talking about her and began sobbing and wiping her tears again.

"I didn't fight. Fleur popped Falynn and my balloon. She yelled at me and even snatched my Bree bag!"

"She even complained to her teacher. She's a meanie, a big fat meanie!"

"My teacher even made me apologize to her! I didn't do anything wrong! I didn't!"

Yvette was all aggrieved as she wiped her tears away. Everyone stopped talking about that instance, and Willy turned his gaze back into his arms. "You didn't; you didn't. Our baby Yvette's the best behaved child! I trust you!"

He then took a deep breath as he comforted her.

"I'll explain to your teacher! You're a good girl, Yvette. Don't cry anymore, okay? You can certainly fight back if someone bullies you, but we don't start fights or lie. If your teacher doesn't believe you, you can come back and tell Mommy and Daddy, got it?"

The bag he got her was too eye-catching. Though it had saved her this time, it also served as a warning. They should never give her anything so distinctive!

After comforting his little one, he turned to the others. "We're all good now; why don't you guys all get some rest! Thanks!"

Willy said his thanks and looked gratefully at everyone before landing it on his personal assistant. "Lexx..."

"I know. Don't worry. I'll take care of the aftermath!"

After nodding, the group left one after another, Kayden the last to stand up. "Hey, the urn... Ferrari..."

He had wanted to say his apologies and never fight with family again. But he couldn't bring himself to say it aloud and, for some reason, brought the car up in the end.

Willy rolled his eyes at him despite thinking the same as his cousin. "Fine! It's yours!"

His attitude said it all when he gave the thing Kayden failed to snatch for himself no matter how he tried in the past, just like that now. No car in the world was more valuable than his wife and daughter's lives.

Coming to a tacit understanding as their eyes met, Kayden waved with a smile. "Thanks! Let me know if you need anything!"

His words also expressed his stance.

After asking about Lauren's situation, Willy brought Yvette upstairs.

She was much more awake after repetitively drinking water and taking steam baths, but she was also utterly worn out by the end of it. Lauren panted slightly as she subconsciously closed her eyes only to frown. What an evil man; she couldn't believe he fed her that!

Perhaps no one was more aware of how detrimental narcotics were than a chemist like her! No one should ever touch anything like that; losing everything at any given time aside, one would never be able to remove it from their life ever again, basically giving their lives up to it.

The man's attitude toward her was

enough to see how horrifying it'd be to be consumed by these things! Plus, Nora dared not say too much because of their beneficial relationship. She clearly either dabbled in those things or that henoveldrama

had something on her. Worst, it was even useless when she swore to keep her mouth shut or even mention her place in the Luther and Bowles family.

She had a nagging feeling this guy definitely had some filthy secrets.

She was still groggy when the sound of the door gently opening came, and the next thing she knew, there was a foreign warmth on her arm. Lauren opened her eyes to see her little one standing by the bed, holding her hand as she tucked her in.

"Mommy..."

Yvette smiled as soon as their eyes met, grabbing her arm to nuzzle her tiny head against it, happy as though she had the whole world in her hands. "Yvette!"

After caressing her face, Lauren dragged her into her bed, wrapping her in her arms, her gaze full of love. "It's way past your bedtime; why aren't you in bed?"

"Mommy, so much sweat! Are you sick? I'll stay with you..."

"Don't worry, Yvette, I'm okay. I've only just taken a shower... I'm still a little wet from it!"

Willy's heart wrenched as he looked at his two beloveds cuddled up in bed. Sure enough, a child felt the happiest and safest by their mother's side! Sitting at the edge of the bed, he reached his hand out to brush her damp bangs aside.

"The doctor said you're basically fine now. After a good night's sleep, I'll bring you to Carson's for a checkup. Yvette, why don't you sleep beside Mommy tonight?"

Too many things happened that day. He knew they all needed a realistic and tangible sense of reassurance.

"Okay!"

With that, the little one kicked her slippers away and crawled to the inner side of the bed, closing her eyes as she nestled against her mother, absolutely well-behaved.

After Yvette fell asleep, Willy shifted her aside and wiped Lauren's body, then got another towel.

"Are you still very warm?" Why was she still sweating?

"I'm much better now!"

Lauren then grabbed his hand and spoke urgently.

"That guy, Nora's lover, I only walked in on them having an affair, but he would only let me go when he had something on me. He didn't even care who I was or if it'd get him into trouble... He's clearly guilty of something. I have a feeling he has some filthy secrets."

If what she said was true, he worried the matter wasn't over yet. "And Yvette, she's so little; would she be dragged into this and-"

"I know! I know it all! Don't trouble yourself with these things. I'll figure out a way to eradicate it. I'll make sure there are no more threats!"

Willy planted a kiss on her forehead as he held her hand.

"Other than taking Yvette to and from school, I've always had people protecting her in the shadows. I'm sure you know the kindergarten she's in is known for its strict,

advancement rate. The first requirement of the interview is that the child has to be independent and can't be too reclusive. And no matter what background the child is from, no bodyguards. I'll reconsider depending on the situation. Worst case scenario, we'll transfer her to a different school! I'll do everything in my power to keep you and our girl safe!"

"Okay..."

Worn out, Lauren slowly shut her eyes, no longer able to keep herself awake.
