Chapter 569
But Everett was always the determined type; what he wanted, he would eventually have.
"Selena, do you think it's possible?" His forehead rested against hers, his warm breath caressing her flushed cheeks. "I want more than just your body. I want your heart."
With those words, he pressed his hand firmly over her heart. He was infuriatingly stubborn and incredibly assertive, yet his gaze was so intense, so full of passion, that Selena's heart skipped a beat before she could stop it. But she wasn't that naive young girl anymore. She wouldn't be swayed by a few sweet words.
She turned her head away, staying silent, refusing to respond.
Everett, however, wasn't about to let her slip away. He nibbled on her ear, his voice a husky whisper, "I've missed you so much these past few years..."
He took her hand and placed it on his chest.noveldrama
"Can you feel it, Selena? Do you know just how much I've missed you...?"
He whispered things in her ear, things that were even more daring and provocative than he had three years ago.
Selena, ever the shy one, felt her face burn with embarrassment, the blush spreading down to her neck.
Everett couldn't help but feel pleased, sensing her genuine reaction. These moments were always better when both parties were equally invested. He wasn't in any rush; he wanted to savor this, to draw out more from her. Selena gripped the sheets beneath her, twisting them in her hands, struggling to break free. Nearly gritting her teeth, she said, "Everett, if you're going to do something, just get it over with. Quit messing around!" She just wanted this over, to let her rest.
Everett had no intention of letting her off easily. He pinned her hands down and interlocked their fingers, raising his head slightly to watch her squirm with discomfort. He spoke deliberately.
"When have I ever been quick? How could I possibly be? Hmm?"
Selena let out a string of curses.
Called him despicable, shameless, and vile.
Told him he had no shame!
Everett took it all in stride; if he cared about dignity, Selena might not have been in his bed at that moment.
His friend Jaime had once said, the key to winning over a woman was simple: be shameless.
"Mummy-"
Just as things were getting intense, the bedroom door was suddenly knocked upon.
Little Mateo's voice, tinged with tears, called out anxiously from outside, "Mummy, mummy, waaah, mummy-"

From past nights, she knew Mateo probably had a nightmare and woke up to find her gone, leaving him in tears.

"Your son needs comforting, so do I."
"Take care of your husband first!"
Selena had no interest in his demands.
Summoning strength she didn't know she had, she pushed him away, rolling out of the bed. Grabbing Everett's bathrobe from the floor, she threw it over herself and quickly made her way to the door, hand on the knob, ready to open it-
