Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1278

Yvette bawled as she lunged her punches at Willy, holding a toy in one hand.

"Bad man, big meanie! Don't bully my mommy! Let her go!"

"Wah! Uncle Daddy! I'm going to tell Uncle Daddy... beat you!"

"Bad man, bad man, wah..."

Yvette blubbered with her childish voice; though her punches were weak, she was all protective of her mother. Willy and Lauren exchanged a glance then, feeling as though a wet blanket was thrown at them, stumped for a few seconds. Willy then quickly let go, and Lauren immediately regained her composure, kneeling down, pulling Yvette into her arms to stop her flailing limbs.

Why did she come back?!

Holding Yvette tightly, Lauren took a deep breath to calm down before patting her, coaxing.

"There, there, Yvette. Don't cry, baby girl. Mommy's just messing with Daddy! Don't be scared; don't cry, okay, Yvette?" "Mommy will be sad too if you cry!" Lauren was wholly touched seeing how protective her daughter was of her. But her heart also ached, shattered to bits, seeing her baby girl's tear-ridden face.

It was certainly true when they said a daughter would be a daughter all her life!

She'd be willing to do anything to make her baby girl happy, even if she had to forgive her father!

Lauren eased Yvette's emotions as she held her in her arms. Looking at the two crying ladies in front of him, both so fragile and piteous, for the first time, it struck Willy that his two beloveds were the most pitiful and needed his protection the most!

Having the revelation, Willy's felt worse, clenching his fists, his gaze at them desolately.

There was truly nothing he could do about the two ladies in front of him!

He actually didn't know what he could do apart from just staring!

Yvette clung to Lauren, wrapping her arms around her neck as she stifled her sobs.

"Mommy, chase him away. I don't want Daddy anymore! He's a bad man. He ate Bree, bullied me, and even bullied Mommy. I hate him!"

Willy's heart shattered into bits that instant, his face looking more despondent.

Shocked, Lauren couldn't believe her daughter had said such things. Deep down, she didn't want Yvette to resent her father. After all, nothing can change the blood running in her veins. She was most unwilling to see Yvette become her, living in misery, trapped in an obsessive resentment toward her family.

Lauren's voice softened a little as she kissed Yvette's forehead.

"How can you hate him, Yvette? Daddy is working very hard to make money out there. He can't come home to see you, he can't eat or even sleep, yet he still has to earn money to buy you toys, food, your little bike, princess bed... Daddy loves you so much. Only daddies who love their little ones will buy them many, many of the best things, right? You'll fight with your friends, make mistakes; Mommy will get upset too, but I will never hate you, will I? Now Daddy's in the wrong, and you're upset, so we'll ignore Daddy for three days; we won't talk to him. But Daddy knows he's wrong now; to err is human, to forgive is divine, right? Let's not hate Daddy, alright?"

Yvette pursed her lips upsettingly as she rubbed her eyes but still nodded.

Surprised that Lauren would defuse the tension like this, Willy's heart melted into mush, touched, overcome with the revelation that she had really taught Yvette well.

Lauren stroked her hair praisingly, then picked her up.

"Then we won't talk to Daddy from now on! I'll take you out to play, then tell you a story; don't let Daddy hear, okay?"

Yvette nodded, then nodded another time before nuzzling her head in the crook of Lauren's neck.

Seeing that her baby girl was happy now, Lauren shot Willy a dirty look and brought Yvette outside. Then, Willy shamelessly followed behind, leaving a distance between them.

Yvette was still a child after all. Her mood came and left just like that, and she naturally wouldn't know to hold grudges. She had already dashed two rounds, riding her little bicycle in the yard, giggling melodiously.

"Haha... Mommy, Mommy, I'm coming..."noveldrama

"Huh, slow down, watch where you're going!"

"Woohoo... Woah... Step aside; don't block my way... Haha..."

When she was done riding her bicycle, she moved to her pink skateboard, which lit up and glowed in the dark, looking rad. Yvette dashed around carefreely, giggling, filled with the most beautiful playfulness.

Yvette got her mother's beautiful voice, like a songbird in the dark. Willy's heart overflowed with emotions just looking at her.

His daughter; who would've thought he had such a beautiful, lively, loving daughter!

He never moved his line of sight, but he unknowingly inched closer to Lauren. He was already overjoyed, even if he could only take her warmth and sweet scent in from a bit of a distance. He then sneakily hooked his finger to hers, slowly inching finger by finger before finally holding her hand completely. This was probably the only bit of reality he could feel in his wonderful moment.

Lauren turned around and met his eyes then. Time seemed to have come to a standstill at that moment.

The two stood motionless for a long

while, looking into each other's eyes. Something had just begun to brew within their eyes, but a tiny figure

dashed over to them before the

could even register the feeling. The mini skateboard stopped right in front of Willy, less than a fraction of an inch away from his black leather shoe, barely touching it.

She then jumped down from her skateboard, looking up, glaring at Willy, giving him a quick shove before she ran to Lauren, latching onto her leg. She was just a pipsqueak, but she was all protective of her mother. Seeing so, Lauren and Willy looked at each other and smiled.

Both similarly glad, yet piteous!

Seeing that Yvette's forehead was coated in sweat, out of breath from all the running, Lauren withdrew her hand and squatted down to wipe the sweat away. "Did you have fun, baby girl? Are you tired?"

Yvette nodded, then shook her head. She then glanced at Willy before nuzzling into Lauren's arms.

"It's getting dark and cold. Let's go inside now; we'll play again tomorrow, okay?"

"Okay..."

Lauren wasn't sure if she was tired or for a different reason, but Yvette hooked onto her neck and climbed up her body, very unlike her usual self, seemingly wanting her to carry.

Yvette was already quite big for her to carry, so she already started panting and evidently unable to take another step after only walking a short distance. However, Yvette began dozing off, resting her head against her shoulder. Seeing so, Willy stretched his arms out.

"Why don't I carry her."

"Hmph..." Though dopey, Yvette still nuzzled further into the crook of Lauren's neck, protesting. Lauren, on the other hand, patted and coaxed Yvette. "Our baby Yvette has grown a little taller and bigger again. I'm having a hard time carrying you now! Why don't we punish Daddy? Let Daddy carry you. Let's squish him. How about that?"

Lauren patted her back and coaxed

her while circling the spot a few times, seeing that she was getting sleepier. Fortunately, Willy wasn't obtuse, taking his jacket off wrapping it on Yvette when Lauren shot him a glance. He then carefully

carried Yvette into his arms after Lauren circled another two rounds, and the little one finally nodded.

And he got teary-eyed the moment Yvette's head rested on his shoulders, feeling the warmth coming from the crook of his neck...
